Hi Karl,
Welcome to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.
About the main purpose of your visit I recommend the following:
1. Get yourself the traditional wear
called "Kanzu" and for your partner
a "Gomesi".
2. Get for the groom a nice cut "Kanzu" and
a "Gomesi" for the bride. The Baganda
respect their traditional atire and they
can never forget that unique but
cherished gift.
About nice places you can visit I counsel as follows;
1. The most exciting part of the country is
Kisoro, the home of mountain Gorrilas,
Then Ofcourse before you proceed to
Kisoro don't forget to visit Ndere
Cultural Centre in Kampala on a sunday
evening for traditional dances. I leave
about 300m from this amazing centre and
know what I'm talking about.
3. You can get reasoble accomodation in
Kampala at about US$80 and a meal at
about US$3. In Kisoro reasonable
accomodation is at about US$75 but there
are those for US$15 also. A meal could
still be about US$2 in Kisoro. Kisoro is
rather chilly at night, so you might
need a jacket.
NOTE: Like in other parts of the world
Uganda is full of conemen. That is
why you have to be careful with who
you are dealing with.
