| Fatehpur Sikri is about 40 kilometers from Agra. The Mughal Emperor Akbar built it and moved his capital here in 1571. But due to shoratage of water, he had to abandon it in 1585 and move his headquaters to Agra Fort. The red sandstone structures of Fatehpur Sikri are remarkably well preserved even after 400 years as these pictures will show.

| The kingdom of Ayutthaya existed from 1350 to 1767. King Ramathibodi I (King U-Thong) founded Ayutthaya as the capital of his kingdom in 1350. Over the next four centuries the kingdom expanded to become the nation of Siam, whose borders were roughly same as modern Thailand. Ayutthaya can be easily visited as a day trip from Bangkok.

| Bangkok is a must see city for any world traveler. It is very colorful, the sights are fantastic, the local people are very friendly, the food is terrific (but order mild unless you like extremely hot food), it is quite inexpensive, and the place is always HOT!

| Gloucester and Rockport are two small towns on Cape Ann in the Northshore area of Boston. These are excellent places to visit as a side trip from Boston. You can cover both places in one day. Gloucester can be reached by car from Boston in about an hour. Rockport is only about 4 miles from Gloucester, farther in the north.
