Diving in Fakarava
Submitted by GillesB on 2008-12-06 10:36:21 (via www.oneyearoff.net)
Diving in Fakarava is simply amazing, one of the most fascinating diving spots in the world. We marveled at the colorful fish and often felt as if swimming in the middle of an aquarium. However, what makes Fakarava so special are the many grey reef sharks that literally surround you at certain spots.

Shaky bridge over the Hunza river
Submitted by dlgbzh on 2008-12-06 03:48:22 (via viaterra.net)
Such crossings are not uncommon in the Northern Areas of Pakistan. Planks are set about 50 cm appart and the bridge swings with the wind over a glacial, fast flowing river

In April 2008, I have spent two weeks in Japan with my 15 years old daughter. We spent one week in Tokyo, then we comute to Kyoto in Shinkansen to spend the second week there. Japan is really a country of contrasts and I hope that by discovering these photographs you will have only one desire, to go there you too.

Rocinha Favela
Submitted by Walker Dawson on 2008-12-03 15:06:09 (via www.flickr.com)
This photo is of the Rocinha Favela, in Rio de Janeiro Brazil. In some ways Rio is like a miniature Latin America; there is natural beauty along side grinding poverty while happy and energetic people live within a sea of violence.
